Latent Lab is a project I worked on at the MIT Media Lab in the Viral Communications Group with Kevin Dunnell and Andrew Stoddard. The project was published at the International Conference on Computational Creativity (ICCC) 2023.
TLDR: It's a giant UMAP embeddings visualization to explore hundreds of thousands of research projects. It was originally used to visualize research at MIT... and is now adapted to visualize any knowledge base.
NOTE: Latent Lab is now a full company (try it at latentlab.ai). I worked on it at an earlier stage from 2022-23 when it was a research project. Screenshots below reflect the research era, not the startup era.

- Generation Workbench - sidebar focused project viewer + idea generator
- Map Visualization - UMAP visualization of hundreds of thousands of embeddings + topography map layer
- Search Bar - embeddings search (not naive keyword search)
- Timeline Slider - filter embeddings by time
